He’s 9. The interview.

Tommy turned 9 yesterday, he’s half way to being a man.  How did this happen so quickly? He was only 3 like 2 seconds ago. As one of our birthday traditions, we decorated the kitchen all festive, made a cake (Tommy decorated it) and celebrated after dinner.  We don’t have big party’s for all the kids every year, it’s just too expensive with four of them and even something simple like going to one of those bouncy places ends up being over $500!  Last year Tommy and Lucas got “jipped” because although we celebrated on the day of their birthday, they were going to have a joint party in the summer and well, the summer just got away from us.  AND BELIEVE ME THEY WON’T LET ME FORGET IT!  This year, we will be taking Tommy and a couple of his friends to the movies and dinner in a couple weeks (he want’s to wait until a certain movie is released) and I’ll attempt our first slumber party.  I am a little scared but he’s 9 after all and “it’s about time.”

This year I am also starting a new tradition and asking the kids a few questions.  I plan to do it every year to see how much they change as they grow up.
